DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC SCIENCE MARKS 2026 WITH INNOVATION, RESEARCH AND STUDENT EXCELLENCE

Bengaluru: The Department of Forensic Science at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, under the leadership of Dr. Don Caeiro, commemorated 2026 with a series of three major academic and co-curricular events, reflecting its continued commitment to research, technological advancement and the holistic development of student talent.

The department hosted the National Symposium 2026 on 25 August, centred on the theme “From Data to Justice: AI-Driven Innovations in Crime Detection and Forensic Analysis.” The symposium brought together students, researchers and professionals on a common academic platform to deliberate on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in forensic science. The programme featured insightful academic discussions and research poster presentations, providing opportunities for knowledge exchange and scholarly engagement.

Further strengthening the department’s academic and cultural initiatives, ATRIUM 2026, its intra-departmental forensic science festival, culminated on 9 October under the theme “Indicia.” Spanning two weeks, the festival featured 20 events across academic, creative and skill-based categories, witnessing an impressive participation of over 750 entries.

Adding another milestone to the department’s calendar, EXACTICA ’26, the postgraduate intra-departmental fest, was organised on 29 October. Entirely conceptualised and executed by postgraduate students, the fest featured 12 technical and creative events, fostering analytical thinking, forensic expertise, collaborative spirit and innovation.

Collectively, these initiatives underscore the department’s sustained efforts to foster academic excellence, promote research and innovation, and strengthen experiential learning. Through such platforms, students are encouraged to translate theoretical knowledge into practical competencies, equipping themselves with the expertise and skills necessary to contribute to the evolving landscape of forensic science.
